Would an animal shelter take my old cat toys etc?

I’m immigrating later this year, my cats are coming with me but I’ll have to get rid of some of their old stuff…lots of little toys, cat beds, small cat box and large cat tree. I really don’t want to just throw these away, but not sure if the shelter up the road would take them if they’re used…a little scruffy but still totally usable.

Not sure if they all accept but ours did when we no longer needed things in the past,as long as they are safe scruffy won’t matter so be sure no loose bits on toys and it will be fine, rescue centres are always grateful of anything given,

you can try donating them and explain like you have here by saying "Not sure if its of any use to you but here i no longer need these" they can then go through them to see what is okay to use so on,

but honestly they took some of ours even after our late dog and they had lots of chew mark,so give it a go am sure they wil be pleased to have them, hope this helps.

Yes they would. A local shelter that’s trying to help will take anything most likely. I would definitely stop by and donate them, its also for a good cause.

Yes. Any shelter I’ve ever been to appreciates donations of any kind.

Yes :) I have always donated toys, food, and such to an animal shelter a couple minutes away. They are always so happy to get things like this because they don’t usually have the money to spend on extra stuff like toys. Not to mention, the pets will love it too. That’s a great idea–I’m sure the animal shelter will be forever grateful for your donations. :]

Not that I know of. Our shelter does not accept used items. Sorry.

Our shelter cannot take any toys which cannot go into the industrial steamer/dishwasher every day.

Sure the shelter staff will smile and accept your donation. Then it goes into the trash. Sorry.

You might check with cat rescues in your area. They are always looking for donations.
