is it normal for cats to hiss at their toys when playing?

My cat seems to get excited/angry at the pole with feathers at the end that I bought him. he will play with it normally but after some minutes he will hiss at it and if I keep on playing with it he will grunt…
is this normal play for them? I stop every time.
he only does that with this toy-I guess he hates feathers…

Cats with a strong prey drive will often hiss/growl at toys with fur or feathers -quite common!

yes it is very common i would know because i have 2 cats and one of them hisses at the toy the reason i think they mite is because they think that it is an living object that is going to attack and when the cat walks away it thinks that it has won the battle and the toy has backed down
