How to reduce my cat’s shedding?

Whenever I pet my cat, fur comes off in my hand. Not just a few hairs, but clumps of fur. It gets all over my clothes. Fur ends up all over my house and furniture when she rubs against things. What can I do to reduce the huge amount of fur that she sheds? I just don’t want cat fur on my clothes or furniture.
She’s afraid of loud noises; vacumming won’t work.

boy, if you could really stop it in its tracks I bet more people would own cats! :)
I am very fond of a website called drsfostersmith.com. They sell pet supplies, but they have articles and pages of advice for pet owners. There is a lot of stuff about shedding and coat quality, and they have a lot of natural products which can make a difference.
My neighbors recently borrowed one of those new Furminator pet combs, and they are amazing! I have sent for one for our cat. I think the idea is that they remove more of the undercoat than many of the conventional brushes and maybe you won’t have to groom as often. But truly, sometimes animals shed too much if something’s wrong with their fur from the inside out. So do a little research and I think you’ll be relieved that you can make a difference.
Meantime, do like my friend and keep a lint roller in every room!!

I bought the Furminator off ebay. This tool is absolutely AMAZING. It gets all the underhair from the cat and that is the stuff that comes off when you pet it. They have it at the vet but they charge like $50 and I got mine off ebay for $12. One of the best pet purchases I have made.

Wash her and groom her daily.

Brush her really well so that you won’t find any clumps.

My grandparents cat does this and they find it all over. She’s a Maine Coon with loads of fur.

I’m afraid there’s nothing you can feed her or give her to reduce the shedding. The only thing you can do is brush her more frequently so you can control where the majority of the fur goes.

You cannot get cat shedding out of your life, that’s just part of having a cat (unless you get a hairless cat that is) but you CAN make it reduce in its amounts. Here are some tips:
1.) Go on the porch every now and then and groom your cat. If they’re a long-haired cat, then you may want to do it daily if you have to, if short-haired, then weekly or about every other day should probanly do it.
2.) Try to find some kind of spray or shampoo-like thing that will reduce sheding, you may find some at a place like petco.
3.) Pet your cat only at certain places where fur cannot get all over your clothes or furniture, you may be thankful.
    Hope I helped :) .

Brush/comb her several times a week. If that doesn’t help make it four times a week. Do it until you and your cat find out how many times a week is Juussstt Right. Keep this in mind "All cats shed all the time.

    All the Best

    1. Brush daily
    2. Feed a high quality food – that means no corn, wheat, or by-products. You want meat and/or meat meal as the first ingredient. Grain free is even better.
    3. Feed a fish/salmon oil supplement available at the pet store
