what effect does catnip have on your kitty?
When woody, my ginger tom has toys with catnip he goes mad on cleaning them!!!!!
My 2 previous cats went mental like they were having an energy burst then after a while would crash out completely ‘knackered’.
How do your kitties react to catnip?
It’s a complete safe euphoria for them. Strangely enough only 2/3s of cats are affected by catnip – one of mine loves it and the other barely notices.
My kitty that loves it licks and scratches at the toy, rolling on her back and just playing 
It’s lovely to watch because she’s ten years old and she acts like a kitten on Catnip.

I guess kinda like when a human smokes pot, probably same effect. Gets them high I guess.

mine eats it and rubs her face in it, then she bites the heck out of her cat tree for a little while.

One of ours goes ballistic, the other ignores it. It’s not that he has no sense of smell, he just isn’t interested. Strange creatures . . .

My current cat has no reaction to catnip. Other cats I’ve had went bonkers and would sniff, lick, and drool on whatever contained it. Same with cantaloupe and black olives.

i bought my cat treats that were edible cat nip and he wouldnt touch them but he has toys filled with it and he goes wild playing with them

Some cats reactive as if theyre in ectasy others dont, just somthing about it!

Mine isn’t so fussed with the toys, but I bought a pot of dried which she used to mostly ignore and once in a while rub her face in it. I have been growing fresh catnip, but it kept disappearing, so rescued the final plant. If I offer her a leaf, she eats it.

my Cat, Buffy, goes all wide-eyed and tries to attack to the toy with the catnip in it, then she tries to rub her head against the toy after a mad 2 minutes attacking it, then goes to attack the stairs.
