i take care of homeless cats what are some good ways to getting them in your home?

i have tried catnip, food toys. Please i really need some helf,or there freeze to death!

It takes time to get a homeless or stray cat to trust you enough to come into the house, which is a strange place for them. If they are homeless, they simply may not understand cat nip or toys. You are going to need to earn their trust out of doors before you can get them in.

Cats are very resilient and are good at finding places to shelter and stay, so you can make sure you leave some food out for them (dry so it doesn’t freeze) and that they have fresh water that isn’t frozen. If you have some old boxes, you can make a little shelter and put blankets in (keep it at least 18 inches off the ground), put in a little food to tempt them. This will be the first step in gaining their trust.

Good luck, and thank you for caring so much about the less fortunate cats of the world.

First of all, God bless you for taking care of these animals. You would probably be better off making the cat an outdoor shelter at this point. It is very hard to get them to come inside with you in there. Feral cats just don’t trust people. Took me two years to catch one feral cat I have. The rest I trapped with a live trap, which I would not suggest at this point because the poor cat would freeze in the trap unless you watched it all day and night. http://www.pacthumanesociety.org/core/WinterShelter.htm You could put a little food inside it to get them to go in.
