Freyja the Kitten Playing With Catnip Toy
My husband just got me this sweet little girl for Christmas!!! =^_^= I just brought her home from the shelter today. She’s only 8 months old and the CUDDLIEST kitty on the planet! I took this video of her playing with a catnip toy only maybe 30 minutes after I got her home. What my lousy camera didn’t capture very well was the sound of her non-stop purring — she’s like a little motor boat!!! You can still hear it though if you listen closely! *BEST* Christmas present EVER!!! ^_^

EDIT: For those of you who already saw the video while she was under the working names of Tsuki and Arrietty, we finally settled on the name Freyja instead. We needed to find a shorter name for her that was still very pretty, and after doing A LOT of research, we discovered that the Norse goddess of love and beauty, Freyja, was also associated with cats — especially grey ones — and even rode in a chariot pulled by two very large grey cats! We figure it’s perfect, and considering how our little girl certainly has no trouble making herself heard, we felt it only fitting she be named after a goddess! ;D

Yes, my husband and I are huge fans of Hayao Miyazaki, and recently we’ve decided we want to name all of our cats after characters from his films from now on! We already have Yuki, and we adored the name Arrietty from his latest film, so now we have Arrietty as well! I think it fits her! ;D
