It's fine, it's a mint that grows outside in herb gardens,like spearmint or wintergreen. The toys aren't supposed to be sucked on, but the catnip isn't going to hurt anyone. It may make a difference if the toy was under the refrigerator or got into something (germy!) but catnip alone won't do it.

When my kids were babies and couldn't sleep, I made them catnip tea. It soothes them and makes them sleepy. Just remember, what works on humans, works on dogs but works the opposite in cats. Also valerian root works the same as catnip on cats, but helps us sleep!

No, catnip will not harm your daughter. Catnip is actually a member of the mint family of plants, so it's no more dangerous than if your daughter were to be in contact with a mint plant.

No, cat nip is harmless to humans. At least the natural stuff. As goes for the synthetic spray I’m not sure, check the bottle to see if it says not to come in contact with eyes or mouth. If so that would be your first indication.

the catnip toys shouldn't harm your daughter as long as she isn't eating large amounts or something, my son (15 years old) has always played with my cat and her toys when he was younger and it never harmed him

Catnip will not hurt the kids. It is more likely that the kids will hurt the cat.
