Is my cat stoned off of catnip?

She was just playing with her catnip toy in a very hyper manner. Then all of a sudden she stopped. And now for the past 5 minutes she has been lying in place, eyes wide open, making very limited movements.

The drug wears off fast.

If you have children, would you get them stoned to "watch them act hyper?"

We gave our kitten catnip a few weeks ago and he’s been playing with his catnip toy everyday. He all of a sudden has been peeing and pooping on our bed, and we aren’t sure why. Could it be the catnip? He also pooped in our hallway and in our bathroom.

I dont think it would be from catnip…he could have UTI though.

Does this toy have catnip or some other chemical to make cats like it?

Here is the toy in question, Hartz Mini-Mice (link below). It doesn’t say anything about catnip on the package, but my cat really goes nuts for them, more so than she ever did with other toy mice that do have catnip in them, and they’re the cheapest ones at the store.

The only other thing I can figure is their size & the fact that they’re made with rabbit fur according to the package.
If that’s all it is, that’s ok with me but if its some kind of weird chemical they’re using I’d feel a little wary of that.

It should say on the package if it has any chemicals or catnip. I haven’t used those but my cats go wild over the mylar crinkle balls and they don’t contain anything-just a wad of mylar. Cats get excited sometimes. If you’re really concerned call Hartz and ask customer service. That number should be on the package as well.

Does catnip affect big cats like lions and tigers?

I thought about taking a catnip toy to the zoo to see what happens.

Hi James…yes catnip affects most of big cats just the same. All of the cats I help to take care of (e.g. cougars, bobcats, servals, jagarundis, etc) particularly love the fresh grown variety more as it is more potent than the dried flowers. The roll around on top of the sprigs we give them daily. It’s quite sweet to watch them get intoxicated on the catnip.

Any recommendations for a durable cat toy?

My cat loves to chew, and she completely destroys toys within about 24-48 hours. Also, she loves catnip toys, but will chew through anything to get to the catnip. I’m looking for a durable, chewable toy that will last a bit longer. Any recommendations?

Make them yourself. You can create them more sturdy than the cheap over expensive toys made in china… and they are much cheaper if you make them yourself too.

Can catnip make a puppy sick?

I just bought a beagle puppy and he wants to chew on the cats catnip toy, will this make him sick, ie: vomit, diarrhea?

I used to rub it on my dog to get the cat to play with him. He’s fine still.

My dogs are always tearing up catnip toys and it hasn’t affected any of them.

is it harmfull need to know any one with idea plz tell me. im freaking out here. he was playing with it layed down later and got stiff and had like little convolsions then got up and tried to walk. it was like his back feet didnt work right he was walking sideways. plz answer ASAP.

Ok your pup is haveing a severe sugar drop he needs to get to the vet. In the mean time give him karo sypup if you have, if not tehn honey and if not that sugar water.
this can be very serious and your dog can die form this. DO NOT WAIT GET HIM TO THE VETS NOW
Please if you have any other problems ask me i have been breeding chihuahuas for 20 years.
Please don’t wait get him to the vets,
also ask the vet about nutrical a vitamin that you should keep on hand with chi’s with this problem also ask him about putting karo syrup in the water to prevent the sugar drops.
